Who we are, what we believe, and how the diocese is organised.
Since 1979
Our History
Methodism came to the Gold Coast in 1835, when the Rev. Joseph Rhodes Dunwell landed at Cape Coast. From the coast the gospel spread inland, and in 1979 the circuits and societies in and around Sunyani attained District status.
When The Methodist Church Ghana adopted the episcopal system in 1999, the Sunyani District became the Sunyani Diocese, led by a Diocesan Bishop.
